UK Basketmakers Association


The Basketmakers' Association of the United Kingdom would like to increase the circulation of their newsletter to individuals and guilds in other countries and to encourage international diversity in their membership. Currently, they have members from 15 countries.

The UK newsletter is published quarterly in February, May, Aug, and November. The 5 1/4" x 8 1/2" format is packed with 40-50 pages of articles, upcoming events, and much more. Each issue contains a teacher's or makers' forum, activity news, and a listing of courses.

There are seldom patterns in the newsletter. In British basketmaking instruction, emphasis is on technique and individual creativity as opposed to the pattern. However, there are sometimes items in a "Hands On' section which describe particularly interesting or useful techniques.

Membership in the Basketmakers' Association entitles you to receive newsletters as they are published. Anyone interest in seeing a sample copy of the newsletter before joining may contact Isobel Edge for more information.

Individuals may join the association by sending $40 per year; couples $60 to:
