AUGUST MEETING President T. Hayes called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. She welcomed new member Brian McConnell (Jack's son) and welcomed back Joe Pierell. Secretary Bill Dillon read minutes. Motion was made by Dave Krainbrucher and
Sam Fazzino to approve the minutes. The Treasurer's report was waived, as Art was not present at the meeting. Under areas of discussion, it was noted that CruisinTimes Magazine had written about the club in his cruise listings and T read it to everyone. It was very flattering mentioning that we were putting on some great cruises this year. Butch noted that there were flyers for the Fall Festival in Alameda Park up on the front tables. Brenda reminded everyone about the upcoming Cookie Daze and Beans and Cream cruises. Butch Stock reported that there were about 60 people signed up for the picnic already. Plans are underway and it looks like it's going to be a good time, and shouldn't be missed. He also reported that ticket sales for the Summer Raffle seem to be going well. Grover reported that the Poker Run will be on September 12. Cars are to meet at Bon Air Shopping Plaza . The first car will be released at noon and the last car around 1:00. We are going to the Wilhelm Winery in Mercer County . The trip is 52 miles and will take approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. If a bottle of wine is purchased, the driver can exchange one card. T asked if you got a whole new hand if you bought 5 bottles, but Grover said no, only one exchange for wine purchases. Grover said each group should bring a picnic basket, as there is a picnic grove across the street from the winery. The winner will receive $50, but whether it is cash, gas card, is yet to be determined. Bill Dillon was asked by the BOD to come up with an idea for a membership drive. He suggested that for every three new people a member brings in during a calendar year, they would get their membership for the next time due free. As those present thought it was good idea, the membership drive is on!. Under Good of the Order, Bob Brandon suggested that we get permanent nametags for the members to wear at meetings and club events so that all the new people would know who's who. T. told him that she would take the idea before the BOD and would let everyone know afterwards No one answered the Trivia Question, so there were no winners this month. Don Hayes won $18.00 in Jack's 50/50 drawing. Car of the month will be Gary Delaney. Rick McLean won $50 in Stiff's Lotto and Tom Sullivan won $17, but since neither were at the meeting, that money goes back into the pot for next month.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

ELECTIONS
Elections will be held at the October meeting. There are four Board of Director positions open this year. Anyone wishing to be nominated should let the nominating committee know. Members of the nominating committee will be named at the September meeting. Please see either the moninating committee or a BOD member if you would like to have your name nominated for a position on the Board of Directors. Remember, if you see the need for change or you have ideas about how the club is run, then you need to run for a position on the Board of Directors.
BASMA SUMMER CRUISE RAFFLE
Just a reminder – the drawing for the Summer Cruise Raffle is Saturday, September 25 at the Beans & Cream Cruise from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Weather permitting, the winning tickets will be drawn with the 50/50 ticket around 4:30 p.m. HOWEVER, if it is raining, (spit, spit, knock on wood it’s not), then we will set up over in front of the old George Kerr’s store under the cover and the winning tickets will be drawn at 1:30.
Please note ALL TICKETS MUST BE RETURNED TO BUTCH STOCK NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24.!! If you need last minute tickets, call Butch and I’m sure he’ll help you out
POKER RUN
The Poker Run is on!! On Sunday, September 12, we will meet at the Bon Aire Shopping Center. The first car will be dealt their card at 12:00 and cars will be released until 1:00. Our destination is the Wilhelm Winery in Mercer County. The winery is housed in a 100-year-old barn situated by the headwaters of Lake Wilhelm. The course runs approximately 52 miles on very good roads through beautiful countryside. After drawing your last card, you will have the option of trading in one card for another draw if you buy a bottle of wine. Bring a picnic lunch. There is a shady picnic grounds right across the road from the winery. Anyone can participate as long as the driver of the car is a BASMA member. So enjoy, the drive, the beautiful flora & fauna, sample some delicious wine and bring your luck. There will be a prize for the best hand, winner takes all. I’m also in need of four (4) dealers to be at the stops to hand out cards to the drivers. If you are interested, let me know.

FAMILY PICNIC
was a rousing success. Many thanks to Linda and Butch Stock and their crew for giving everyone such a great time. The kids had a ball. There was a scavenger hunt and games to play and of course the matchbox drag races. I know of one trophy that is currently on display on the living room mantel! And let me tell you, there is not one bad cook in this club. The food was delicious and everything was non-fattening. It was great. The Senior Division matchbox drag race winner this year was Joel Geible. The Junior Division winner was Skylar Geible. Joel won the overall championship in a winner take all challenge between he and Skylar. So thanks again to the Stocks and crew -- for a great time was had by all!!

TRIVIA
This month’s trivia question has been submitted by Butch Rocco.

NEWSLETTER EDITOR
This is my final newsletter. I have enjoyed doing this for the last five years, but it is time to move on and let someone else do it. I want to thank everyone who has written or provided articles over the years. A very special thank you needs to go to my husband, Don. He has supported me and helped me in every way imaginable since I started the job. Over the years, many people have helped with the folding, labeling and getting out to mail, Jack McConnell, Cliff Rumbaugh, Frank and Paula Smith, and if I left out anyone I apologize. But Dave and Paulette Bowen have been at my dining room table every month for five years working on the newsletter and to them I give a great big hug and an even bigger thanks. But the newsletter goes on! Brian McConnell has volunteered to take the job over. Brian, our newest club member, is Jack's son. No wonder he's hooked on cars, huh! It also doesn't hurt that he lives two doors down from me. (I will now be referred to as Brian's neighborhood resource.) Brian did a newsletter for four years at his job, but it was done away with and he is looking forward to working on one again. At this point in time, he intends to keep the trivia questions and the Out and About section of the newsletter, as well as Car of the Month if he can raise any interest. That feature seems to be dying out. He also mentioned doing a new section called Tool Corner or Name that Tool. Personally, I think it will be nice to have a male prospective for a change. At least he won't have to ask someone what a torque is, or what nos means. So thank you all for allowing me to hopefully keep you informed and entertained for the last 5 years. It was a great experience.

Hi, I'm a member of The Grove City Classic Croozers. Was wondering
if you could put our car club link on your site. We're trying
to get our site out there. I just started the site, and am new
to web design. Check out our site if you would like, and you
can join up for free as well. You members are also welcome to
join. We have just put the site online, so it would be great
to have more car people on there! It is similar to myspace,
where each member of the site can have thier own page. We also
have a forum, for sale listings, and Cruises and shows tabs
(where u can put the upcoming cruises for your club). www.gcclassiccroozers.ning.com
Let me know if you do put us on your site, so I can do the same
for you as well. Sincerely, Alana Surrena

Web Site I have had several people complain that the new picture
software will not run well on their machines or if the listings
seem slow (they should be almost instant). There are 2 problems
that we have found, one is having basic dial-up service, No
Comment. The other is running Kaspersky Anti-Virus; If you are
using Kaspersky and Big Al's List works slowly, take the following
steps. open the Kaspersky main application window in the right
upper corner of the window click the Settings link in the Protection
section on the left select Web Anti-Virus in the Security level
section, select Low click the OK button This does not seem to
be a problem with American anti-virus programs, only the Kaspersky
program made in Russia. If you are using a different anti-virus
program and the event listings do not appear within a few seconds,
let us know what you are using and if temporarily turning it
off helped. Check out all the new pictures in the Photo Gallery.
A lot of 2010 events have been added with more on the way. Big
