We are human beings created by God with unique bodies, souls, and minds. We all use our minds to make different choices in life as far as behavior. We are prone to selfishnessand being egotistical which causes us to ignore our imperfections while pointing out the sins and imperfections of others.
Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?
Consider all the choices you have made in life, some of them had consequences while others did not. Human nature makes it easy to make bad choices if we think we can avoid paying the consequences. God designed us to have a free will and choice. Now illness is not a result of sin, but God often allows it to happen in order that we are reminded we need something outside of ourselves. Human nature can make it easy to think we do not. We are given hope that God never gives us more than we can bear, so if you have lots on your plate then consider that God designed you and knows you - and He knows what you are actually able to manage. Sometimes we cannot manage things in life because we are too busy doing it on our own, we have to remember that God can help us in these times. A final note is on death. Death is a result of man's first decision to do something God told him not to, and death is as much a part of life as birth. Society today does not talk about death much except to tell you grief is not acceptable - it absolutely is as natural as breathing. We have the hope of knowing we will see the people we love in Heaven but often grief after the death of a loved one is a lifetime journey, not something you ever "finish" doing.
Jesus is God's son. The Bible tells us he came to earth, lived a remarkable life without sin, was crucified as the price paid in full for our sins, and was resurrected three days later from the dead as a testimony to God's power, forgiveness, and love. Why is being Christian so complicated? Remember - human beings are individual, all unique in some way so we see the world differently too. We also have human nature and temptation to contend with. Making decisions about how to behave based on our Christian beliefs is never easy, but we can know that God is satisfied if we do the absolute best we can in every situation to follow what God commands or what God would want us to do. How do I know what God wants if its not covered in the Bible? We have other means of knowing God's will, if we are familiar with the Bible then we have a good understanding of God's call for us in life. We can also pray that He will open doors or light paths if that is the way He would have us to go. We can also listen to the call of our heart, the Holy Spirit within us, convicting us when we sin or compelling us to do right. If we ignore this voice too long, it will get quiet but we have hope in knowing it can be restored once we start listening to it again. What if I don't believe a loving God could or would create hell? Human beings were created by God to have a choice in how to live and what they choose to believe. However, hell was created as the counterpart for Heaven so those who choose not to accept God and never ask Jesus into their hearts have an ultimate consequence for their choice. It is the most wonderful gift God has offered to you, salvation from sin in accepting Jesus and having a personal relationship with God. However, you have to accept it for it to be yours. What about unborn children or young children who die? God allows us to have access, sometimes brief, to angels such as these who never learn the difference between right and wrong. These people are accepted into God's kingdom because of their circumstances and God's forgiveness. What if someone has never heard of God? Consider all the various religions in the world, all the deities conceived of. God designed us to seek Him out, and we search until we fill the void or die trying. First and foremost, you have to believe in things unseen - this is faith. Second, you have to ask! Just pray to God that you want Jesus to be Lord, Master, and Savior of your heart and life. Then believe and develop a relationship with God by prayer, getting into God's word, and going to church to worship and learn more about Him. The most important part of being a Christian then is living a life consistent with what God says. Even if all *YOU* do is read this and walk away, I know I have done what I can to share my convictions with you and it is YOUR CHOICE to decide what you do or do not do with the information.
