Cheryl Ward Burkey738 Chestnut Street E-Mail: cwburkey at zoominternet dot net "The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', I live in Meadville, Pennsylvania, where my husband David is a Chemistry professor at Allegheny College. Our daughter Elaine is an eighth grader at Meadville Area Middle School. I work for Attorney Joan D. Mason, Esquire, on family law cases that mostly involve divorce and custody issues. In 2007, I was elected to Meadville City Council. For City issues, please e-mail me at cherylburkey@cityofmeadville.org. I also serve as Secretary for the Crawford County Democratic Party (http://www.zoominternet.net/~crawdem/) and Committeewoman for voting precinct Meadville 2-1, and I volunteer regularly and am Vice-President of the Meadville Community Soup Kitchen. A few shots of Elaine in the snow, December 2006. Elaine's latest school picture: ElaineF05.jpg. A quick photo of David and Elaine sledding in the back yard, December 2005. A quick photo of Elaine in the snow, January 2005. Note to self: take pictures in the morning at home for better light. Documentation of our first snow in Meadville, such as it was, and our first *real* snow here, which lingered a bit longer. I've started gardening pages (1 | 2) to document my efforts to rehabilitate our jungle here. I didn't make much progress this summer and fall, but wait until next spring! The Burkeys Move to Meadville saga, now available for your viewing pleasure. Also now available is Part 2, detailing the hunt for furniture and joy of painting. For pictures of how our new house looked when we bought it, see http://www.zoominternet.net/~cwburkey/house/old/Judge.html. My only other web presence is that the annotated bibliography that I created for Special Collections during my internship is available on the SDSU Library website at http://infodome.sdsu.edu/about/depts/spcollections/rarebooks/norland_bibliography.shtml. It provides listings with descriptions of the the 194 books in the Norland Collection that deal with the history of medicine. |
