In addition to playing with computers and the internet, Don enjoys a couple of neat hobbies  - - -  Amateur Radio and Kite Flying.  Jodie is not a ham radio operator yet, but she, too, loves to fly kites.  It's a great hobby for the two of us to enjoy together (it gets us out of the house and into the fresh air, too).

We are also into windchimes - not the little fellers that go "tinkle tinkle tinkle", but the big honkers that go "Gong, Gong, Gong". They sound really nice in a decent wind. It kinda gets us fired up for kite flying.  We will get some nice pictures of our windchimes on our site someday....

Another of our active interests is candlemaking.  We love candles, especially in the wintertime.  Don made candles as a youngster and never lost the love of pouring melted wax into a mold to make a beautiful and relaxing candle.  We haven't yet made a page featuring candles and pictures of them, but it may come soon.  

Another inescapable part of our lives is our three cats.  Since they are so much involved (sometimes far MORE involved than we would like) in our daily routines, we'll probably have a webpage with their furry mugs on it.  We have a digital camera, so we may take some pics of them (usually sleeping, but, otherwise, in some sort of trouble).  

Page Policy . . . .

We have visited many web pages; most of them are very nice and well constructed.  We have learned a lot of new things by doing this and we congratulate all those who built their pages for the rest of us to enjoy and use.

Our policy here will be to minimize the use of links to other websites, except where a link would be a useful transition to help explain or amplify upon something that our page may discuss.  We saw websites with a gizillion links to every Tom, Dick, and Harry that they came across.  One site we visited was nothing BUT links.  So, our use of links will be sparing because (1) other sites with related information have done a far better job of building a comprehensive set of links than we could ever hope to do and (2) we simply don't have the time to spend maintaining a set of links to insure that they are current and accurate.

Another page policy, which may detract from its appeal, is that we plan to use color schemes that are simply easy to read.  We would rather use moderate text and background color schemes to make reading easier than to use cool combinations that could be tough to read. [One of our favorite eyestrainers is the "red letter on black background match". That one really makes us turn off the lights to see it!]  Here's how we feel after reading those for a while - - - 
That's the policy for now.  We may change our minds as time passes and find reasons to add lots of links and cool colors.  If we do that, then we'll remove any reference to what you have just read, we'll deny, deny, deny that it was ever here in the first place, and your mind will have been automatically cleansed from this issue by our built-in Hypnosomnambulator secret software sub-routine sitting in our site.
