My name is Ed Anderson. I grew up in Fairport, NY, a suburb of Rochester. I was on the swim team in high school and graduated from Fairport High School in 1987 and went to Penn State. I played water polo there and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. In 1992, I got a job at a small company, SATEC, and moved to the Pittsburgh Area. I married my wife, Laurel, in 1993. In 1997, I left SATEC to work for Texas Instruments. In 2003, TI decided to close their Pittsburgh site. I started working at Respironics in December of 2003. I am a huge NASCAR fan, and partial to Tony Stewart. In the fall I enjoy college football and rooting for Penn State and against any team from the state of Florida. I have a brother Dave who is two years younger than me. Dave, among other things, is a big shark fan. He has published an extensive web site on sharks. It's worth visiting if you have any interest in this sort of thing. He also swam in high school, and turned out to be a much better swimmer than I was. To make matters worse, we both swam the same event. When I was a senior and he was a sophomore, his times were actually faster than mine. Luckily, for me, the coach was sympathetic and kept my brother on the junior varsity team until I graduated. Despite my mediocre abilities, we managed to win the New York State High School Swimming and Diving Championship three of the fours years I was involved in the sport. We were second my junior year.
