One
of my roommates at Bluffton College was from Jordan. Leila taught me
just enough Arabic to amuse some of the other foreign students..

It
was written about Leila's descriptions of the lovely lovely men she
said lived back home where she came from. The camel story came from a
cartoon called Hot Sands that was a part of my father's 8mm movie
collection. This is an example of a song that has taken on unintended
significance in recent years. I had no idea that
fifty years later it would become a weapon in the War On Terrorism.
