Your two tasks!  Finish task one first.

Task 1 (Essay grade):  Your assignment is to write a paper and prepare a presentation on your assigned Renaissance personality.  For your paper you must do the following. 

  * Have an introduction - general statement about the Renaissance and then general information about your person.  Born, died, where lived, etc. 

   * Explain your individual's accomplishments.

   * Explain their impact (importance).

   * Explain how their work was different or improved on previous work.

   * Cite three sources at the end of your paper in a brief bibliography.  (This can be a list of three web sites.)

   * Copy any cool pictures for your presentation for later.  Be sure to make note of what they are.

   * If you plagiarize you will get a zero on this assignment.  You are looking for information.  You may not use someone else's words.
 

Task 2 (Test grade): For your presentation you must teach the class the essential information on your topic.  You may make your presentation in PowerPoint or Word.  Teach the class the way I would.  Your presentation must answer the following.  Once you have finished your presentation you may turn in your paper.

                    * Who was your person?

                    * What did they accomplish?  Be detailed!!

                    *Why are they important?

Presentation can be no more than five minutes....

Organization  Content is well organized using headings or bulleted lists to group related material.  Uses headings or bulleted lists to organize, but the overall organization of topics appears flawed.  Content is logically organized for the most part.  There was no clear or logical organizational structure, just lots of facts. 
Attractiveness  Makes excellent use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance the presentation.  Makes good use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance to presentation.  Makes use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. but occasionally these detract from the presentation content. Use of font, color, graphics, effects etc. but these often distract from the presentation content. 
Oral Presentation  Interesting, well-rehearsed with smooth delivery that holds audience attention.  Relatively interesting, with a fairly smooth delivery that usually holds audience attention.  Delivery not smooth, but able to hold audience attention most of the time.  Delivery not smooth and audience attention lost.
