Global Awareness II Course
Syllabus and Curriculum Map
Curriculum map: Want to know everything we do in Global Awareness? Click on this link.
| Course Description: We'll rocket our
way through the Dark Ages, Middle Ages, the world's great faiths and into
the Protestant Reformation and the Renaissance. During the second
half of the year we'll check out our great neighbors to the south in Central
and South America.
Grading Scale Breakdown
90 – 100 A
Tests / Projects – 40%
49 and below F - Cannot be made up in summer school
The chart above right is how I figure out a student’s grade. On occasion those percentages may be altered slightly depending on work assigned to better reflect student achievement. Homework Policy: Students can
expect weekly assignments. Assignments may be turned in late but
are worth only half credit. Partially completed work is not acceptable.
All
grades and assignments owed are printed out weekly! Students
always know their grade and any work owed.
Notebooks & Absences: We do not
use a textbook for this course. Class sets of texts are available,
but students will not be issued a book. It is crucial that students
be in school and carry an organized notebook for Global Awareness.
This is a requirement and will be graded on its organization and neatness.
It
is also vital that when students miss school that they make arrangements
to get the notes and assignments missed for that day.
Student Agendas: Daily agenda entries must be recorded in the school-issued student agendas. These entries are offered as extra credit on tests. |

"Greetings and salutations. I wanted to break my recent public silence to assure my party and the American people that there is no truth to the rumor that the reason I lost the 2000 election is because I was spending so much time on this incredible website. If anything this site could have only enhanced my chances, making me much more well-versed in the incredible stories of humankind. This site also helped me develop my own jocular sense of humor making me a much kinder, gentler, yet more animated kind of guy. You'll soon find, as I have, that spending time on this website is far more important than even personal hygiene. But hygiene will become ever more convenient once the ice caps melt. Well, I am off to swim at the North pole!" |
