The Rev. Franklin Delano Meddings, 60, of Wayne, W. Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1994, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, by Brothers Otis Dillon and Larry Blankenship. Burial will follow in the Jarrell family cemetery, Wells Mountain, Dunlow, W. Va., near his childhood home. He was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Dunlow, a son of the late John and Ora Ellen Jarrell Meddings. He was a former auto mechanic and upholsterer, and served as pastor for a number of Wayne area churches. He also was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Bertha Stepp; and two brothers, Leonard H. Meddings and John J. Meddings. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Mae Osburn Meddings; three sons, Marvin Frank Meddings of Cincinnati, Ohio, Darcy Dale Meddings of London, Ohio, and Anthony B. Meddings and his wife, Connie, of East Lynn, W. Va; one sister, Shirley Finley of Dunlow; four brothers, Thomas Meddings and Everett Meddings, both of Crum, W. Va., and Charlie Meddings and Pete Meddings, both of Dunlow; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Morris Funeral Home.
