Optional Classic Llama Classes will be offered at ALSA shows for 24 months (May 1, 2008 through April 30, 2010) to prove they have the numbers that warrant representation, as a Division, at the Regional and Grand National Shows.
Please bring out your Classic Llamas. They are the foundation of llamas. |

CLASSIC LLAMA Definition: Double coat with prominent, abundant guard hair throughout coat. On the body (except juveniles and yearlings), undercoat has moderate to sparse density and is either minimally or not at all visible under the guard hair. Very short smooth fiber on face, ears, forehead and head. Short leg fiber above the knee or hock and short smooth or minimally ruffled hair below the knee or hock. A large window of short, smooth hair on either side of their sternum. Neck fiber that often sheds out leaving a discernible guard hair that resembles a mane. |
