TONI MAHONEY  KNIE

 ALSA  JUDGE

Although Richard and I have moved to The Villages, Florida we still own and show llamas.  I am also equally involved in 4 H, youth clinics, the education of youth,  and committee work for ALSA.

Before moving to Florida, Richard and I had a black angus cattle farm in middle Tennessee.   We also raised Suffolk sheep, burros, horses, llamas, and a few alpacas.  We became involved in showing and breeding llamas in 1994 and have traveled in just about all states east of the Mississippi.  We show both halter and performance llamas and have some llamas who are champions in both arenas.

We were not always farmers.  I am a retired school teacher and Richard is a retired air force pilot.  Because animals have always been an important part of my life, it was only natural for us to move to the country and buy a farm.  Of course you want animals on a farm, so our family of animals grew and it was only natural for us to chose the quiet and intelligent llama.  We have downsized now so we only have a small farm in Tennessee and several of our llamas are staying with friends.  Even so we still look forward to every opportunity to be with our llamas and our llama friends.
