It's been a long, dry spell, for sure!! Well, things got a bit muddled, then honest-to-goodness procrastination took hold...... At any rate, here we are heading full-speed into summer, and what could be more appropriate to ham radio at this point than.......Field Day?
So, with no more procrastination, let's jump right in.

Check out TCARC's 2002 Field Day Site
Up-top, we find useful links for those planning to participate:
  • ARRL FD Rules
  • A FD Check-List
  • FD Logging Software link [WR9R's]
And, to be expected, the routine explanation of what Field Day is all about for non-hams. The page is rounded out with links to several photos of TCARC participation in previous years. Closing out the page is a link to the TCRAC home page, where I learned that we're viewing a club site from the Lone Star State!: Tri-County Amateur Radio Club of North Texas -- WC5C

Moving along, I see that Wells County also participated in Field Day.
Wells County Amateur Radio Club
This is a nice, neat page showing participants in the 1999 FD. And, by the way, Wells County ARC is located in Bluffton, Indiana; along the banks of the Wabash River.
Gee, I gotta wonder whether they have taken part since 1999, though? Sorry, but we can't tell here. This page does include links to the Wells County Amateur Radio Club home page. Actually a newsletter, this site describes the activities of WCARC in some detail.
Keep us posted, gang!!

WWI Field Day
Y'know, I'm not exactly sure what that WWI means! I was expecting a pix of a rotary spark xmtr....but, no, instead of that, we're treated to a table of Woodbridge Wireless's its historical FD info.
Looks like pretty thorough participation, what with 15A, 14A, 13A, etc.! And, look at those points. Too bad 2002 isn't posted yet.... 'Course, it's only been a bit over 24 hrs since the event ended, so I guess I'm just a bit unrealistic!!
Hey! Check out their neat photo pages, too. I mean, easy to download with the thumbnails, but click one and yeeesh.... the whole screen lights up! Gotta say, K5VG's done a super job here!!

Hey, you gotta like PARC Field Day 2002
Yep, that's PARC....as in Palomar Amateur Radio Club, W6NWG. This is one huge page, gang, so plan to spend some time there, ok?
Wow! Pix of this year already. That's quick. Super pix, too. Looks like an organization that's been running the show for just a bit, HI! Great job, gang.

Let's take a peek at WVARA Field Day
Well, I'll be!!! And I thought (honestly!) that WVARA just had to be somewhere down in God's Country:   Wild 'n Wonderful West By God Virginia! You know, gang, there's nuthin' on the website that gives you any hint whatsoever that it's not!
So, where exactly is WVARA? Well, I think it's in California. Only because early-on, there's a reference to one AB6VS & KC6QBF's. I'll tell you, these folks are organized!!!. Down to who keeps the electrical tape, HI! Think I'm kidding? Just peek at the internal page link Radio Stations at Field Day. FEMA should be so organized, HI!
But, I'm still searching for the meaning of WVARA. If it's not West Virginia, then what? Ok, so.....finally, West Valley Amateur Radio Association. Tnx, fellas. Seriously, super site.

Took a peek at CLARC ARRL Field Day 2002 page....
Now, here's a page that's both attractive and useful, providing links to ARRL rules, a place to volunteer, a Mapquest Map for directions, and......yep!, pix of FD 2002 already. Nice job, gang.
And, if you're like me, and want to know more about just who and what CLARC is, check out CLEAR LAKE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB, a Houston, Texas club. You gotta search for these things, gang, HI!, HI!

R U Ham?
'Course you are, right? So, what's the angle....well, quite simply, I surfed on over to University of Hawaii RC, UHaM for short.
Well, I had to search a bit, but there is a section of this club page that deals with FD:   QRPTTRF, Radio and Rain Forests. Unfortunately, it's not exactly a current FD operation, i.e, it's from 1998. Ah, well.... Nice pix, though. And, seems like they had fun, which is important!!

You just gotta see MAURY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB -- W4GGM!
In addition to being the only site reviewed so far to actually give its location "up front," Maury ARC is a truly super-looking site. Not to take anything away from any of the others, but the Flag just hits you between the eyes right from the Get-Go!
The site summary stats relate to 2001, but the page leads right into this year's contest, so we'll bet that in short order, you'll be seeing loads of new content for FD2002!! Beautiful pix of Tennessee, too. Nice use of thumbnails to make a very compact presentation. Click on 'em. You'll be glad you did!
