M16/AR15 Bolt Hold Open for UZI 9mm magazines
A groove is
milled in the side of the follower and a spring steel tab is welded into the
groove. The tab gets pushed into the groove after the first round is loaded. The
tab extends as soon as the last round is fired. The tab is tempered spring
steel. The tab retracts very easy and does not hinder follower movement.

The bolt hold open clearance slot in the magazine needs to be lengthened a little and a tapered groove needs to be ground into the magazine to allow the bolt hold open tab to swing out.
