HUSBAND  - John William VAN HOOSE
     Ann's Memories: My Mom & Dad bought me a new red coat.  dad had to do some
work at Grandpa's and I got to wear my new red coat.  I ran to show Grandpa but 

he had gone back on the hill to drag in some wood.  I ran up the hill to
meet him and to show him my coat.  He told me to walk out in front of him in
the sun and although he was nearly blind, he could see me.  He told me that it
was very pretty and that I was a very pretty girl.
Another time I remember my Grandpa had walked to our house, it made him
tired and he sat down on the porch to rest.  Mama was around in the back doing
the wash.  I was playing around the porch near Grandpa as all little kids I
loved him very much.  He was chewing tobacco and I was playing in front of him.
Soon he spit and I had tobacco juice all over me.  It made me mad and I soon
went up and sat down beside him and said, "Grandpa, I don't like you anymore."
After he explained he could not see me, all was forgiven.
