May is: National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month
Each year, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) declares May to be "National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month." It's a peak season for asthma and allergy sufferers, and a good time to educate patients and others about these diseases.
There is no place safe from allergies in America.. Nasal allergies can impact us in more ways than we realize, whether it be our relationships with friends or family, our productivity on the job or even our sleep. The key to living a healthy, productive life, in spite of the burden of nasal allergies, is working with your health care provider to develop a treatment plan.
Asthma affects one of the most important organs in the body - the lungs. The condition causes inflammation in all airways, both large and small. It's possible to have inflammation even when typical signs of asthma, like wheezing and coughing, are absent.

By 2015, the uninsured in southwestern Pennsylvania will have access to free primary and preventative health care through Wesley Health Center, a modern medical facility that is a leader in assessing and addressing health needs, and supported by the community through referral networks, partnerships, financial contributions, volunteer efforts and marketing.

It's always a good time of year to help your community by helping WHC. Many of your family, friends and neighbors may be among those unable to afford health insurance but who need health care. For these individuals, there is Wesley Health Center, the only free clinic in southwestern Pennsylvania.
