Ice Dragon Pentathlon 2012

Unto all who read these words do I, Aengus MacBain, send greetings.

Now that the dust has settled and the IceDragon has returned to it's lair, I need to take a minute to thank all those gentles without whose help, my job as pent coordinator would have been next to impossible.

First off, I wish to acknowledge my staff, many of whom have been serving at The Pent for many years.

Without Mistress Juliana and Master Valgardr I am confident that we would still be trying to figure out the scores today.

Mistress Alison, my judge coordinator, did an amazing job "herding the cats" ;-)

Mistress Franchesca and Baroness Bronwyn, who manned the registration table yet again for the upteenth year. Without all your hard work, I don't know what I would have done. Thank you!

To my Drop Dead Baroness Kateryne of Bakestondone, who always seemed to be just where I needed her at just the right time.

To THL Timothy of Edgewood, who added a much needed sense of levity to the registration process as well as serving as greeter.

To my apprentice, THL Kamashima Zentarou Umakai, his lovely lady Isabel Fleuretan and Isabel's Mom, Abbatissa of Banbury, who helped me with favors, general last minute fire control and being available where ever needed, thanks for being there!

I also want to thank the members of House Singing Stone and Lions Tower who made sure that there was food and drink available for the Judges and staff to nosh upon.

I also owe a huge debt of gratitude unto milady wife Yvianne, who was always there whenever I needed anything, be it guidance from the Voice of Experience, to filling in as a judge, to helping me set up tables. She is mine and you can't have her!

I further want to thank everyone who took time out of their day to judge the competition itself! My sincere gratitude goes out to the following gentles; Tofi Kerthjalfdsson, Bryn ni MacRose, Shepard, Alaric, Archibald of Stoke on Trent, Cori, Mistress Alicia Langland, Euriol of Lothian, Kameshima Zentarou Umakai, Gille MacDhnouill, Alaric MacConnal, Teresa, Arianna of Wynthrope, Felicity Flosmullnerin, Katja, Cynwyl MacDaire, Creador, Baroness Elisabeth, Kateryne, Karl von Elfstein, Mathilda Bosvyle, Aibell ingen Dairmata, Browyn nic Gregor, Master Duncan Blackwater, Cameron Fitzrery, Juliana Delamere, Honnoria, Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon, Jaqueline de Moleire, Ysabeau Tierceln, Alexander Caithnes, Timothy of Edgewood, Morgan Elandras, Gillian Llyweln, Alianor de Ravenglas, Malcolm MacAngus, Valgardr and Judith of Kirtland.

If I missed your name, I apologize, but rest assured, I am grateful for your service.

Last but certainly not least, I want to thank all those gentles who entered items in the competition. This year there were some extraordinary entries and I was thrilled to be able to see them. I hope you all had a positive experience and I hope you are all willing to share your work again in the future. Thank you all.

I'm sure there were others who helped in ways I may not even be aware of.
To those who serve in silence, thank you too!

Regards,
Sir Aengus MacBain
IceDragon Pent Coordinator, Retired.
