Consort Arts

In the SCA, a consort is one whose favor a fighter carries into a tournament.
It is half of a relationship consisting of a champion and their inspiration.
In a Crown or Coronet tournament, should the fighter win the tournament, the consort would be co-ruler with that fighter.

That doesn't mean a combatant can only have one inspiration but
for SCA tournament purposes the "team" is comprised of one Consort & one Champion.

16 years ago, before I went to my first SCA anything... I was loaned a Known World Handbook to look through.
I remember flipping through the pages and thinking.... Laurel, that sounds like fun. I could do that ...
Ooohhh! Consort. That's what I want to be!!

I have since earned other titles, but none compare with the joy and honor
that has been mine from the first time my Champion took the field
... and renews itself every time he salutes me.

Information on being a Consort is scarce:
Partly because the experience is different for each person
... and partly because sharing your experience, which can have a lot of private aspects to it, isn't easy.

Below is a list of links and articles that consorts may find
useful, inspirational or interesting.

It is my sincere hope and desire to make this list grow.
